The Norfolk Companies is a new name for a very old company. Our history begins in 1934 when Ben and Lena Rosen opened a small plumbing supply company on Norfolk Street in Boston. Over the years, that small plumbing supply company grew into Norfolk Hardware & Home Center as we added on additional product categories to meet customer demand. In 1985, Norfolk Hardware & Home Center’s customers started requesting cabinets and countertops. After having initial success through the hardware store, and to keep up with the customer demand, we opened Norfolk Kitchen & Bath and Northeast Cabinet & Countertop Distributors.
Norfolk Kitchen & Bath is New England’s largest and fastest-growing kitchen and bath company, with 6 showrooms in the Greater Boston area. We design and sell kitchens and bathrooms to our retail and commercial customers.
In 2003, Norfolk opened Northeast Cabinet & Countertop to provide Norfolk Hardware and Norfolk Kitchen & Bath with high-quality countertops and custom millwork options. In addition to supplying our own companies with these items, Northeast Cabinet & Countertop is becoming a preferred vendor among many general contractors for countertop and custom millwork needs.
The Norfolk Companies is still family-owned and operated by 4th generations of the Rosen family. We have about 200 employees, and we are always growing! Our employees are a big part of what makes us successful. In each of our business segments, we have some of the most experienced and dedicated employees, many of whom are among the top in their field. Our 75,000 square foot facility in Braintree, MA houses our main company offices, shipping and receiving, Northeast Cabinet & Countertop Distributors, and Norfolk Multi Family.
